If MAC foundations like Pro Longwear had a more affordable sister, this would be her.

When I was younger, I always thought it was “too heavy” but now that I am the seasoned old age of 28 (29 next month :0), I have come to appreciate it’s full coverage capabilities hardcore. My mom always wore Revlon Colorstay foundation. I’ll be telling you about Revlon Colorstay Foundation and Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer.

For reference, I am around NC42 in summers. If your skin is less than perfect, like mine, and you like a full coverage look on a drugstore budget, like me, here are two products that will cover all sins and scaries. So, I would say that in case you have a tattoo, or some other use for it, you may try it, if you find a shade match. I tried concealing a birthmark on my hand, and it did it spectacularly. I didn’t find anything good in the concealer, except for the fact that it conceals very well. Even if the shade was okay, I would have tried to work with it, but it wasn’t.

It transfers everywhere, and doesn’t stay long, even topped with powder.įrankly, I had read a lot of good things about this and then decided to give it a shot, but maybe it just was not for me. But the oily texture of the concealer creased into fine lines, and I could smell the weird smell on my face. It photographs well though – it doesn’t look ashy or cakey in pictures, and I can’t explain why. I dotted it around my face too, and used it to get an even skin tone across my face, and it actually looks somewhat decent – not very bad – but definitely made up. So, I used the pencil and the concealer on my under eyes which made it look ashy, but to its credit, it concealed everything.

I still decided to give it a try because I hear beauty bloggers say that under-eye concealers should be a shade lighter than your face. The only part it matches is my wrist, where my skin tone is lighter.Įffectively this product was no use for me, because I don’t have any tattoos that I would want to cover. The “Tan” shade looked pretty ashy on me when I first applied it on my hand, and now that I am more tanned, it isn’t even close to matching. The shade selection is designed mostly for pale people, and is very limited.

I bought it online, so got the shade Tan, which was the darkest, but it is still light for me by one shade at least. It comes in 4 shades – Ultra light, Light, Medium and Tan. Now coming to the actual product itself, first and foremost, the shades. My Take on Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer: The pencil comes with a cap, which is useful for protecting it. But still you may get too much product if you’re not careful with it. The tube has a pointed sort of opening which is useful for getting only the required amount of product, which is very less. It says that we need to line tattoos with the pencil and fill it in, then apply the concealer on top of that, and keep concealing until the tattoo disappears (these are the instructions for covering tattoos, but can be extended to other blemishes too). It comes in a plastic box which contains both the concealer tube and the pencil. I thought I should review it for you guys just in case. I had gotten this a while ago but kept it away since it didn’t match my skin tone. As I said, I have a wedding to attend in two weeks and I am already preparing what makeup to wear with each outfit! Due to the sun burn and tanning, my face started looking dull and I got extremely dark under-eye circles for a while, so I started hunting for concealers, and dug this out, which I had completely forgotten. If you guys could also help with quick tips to remove my tan, in the comments, I would be grateful to you all!! So, now coming to the product in question. My skin is particularly sensitive to sun actually. I had used loads of sunscreen, but to no avail. Unfortunately, I got horribly sun burnt and have slowly been nursing back my skin to normal before my cousin didi’s wedding which is in about two weeks. I had a fun vacation at home first and then an awesome trip to Goa with friends. So, I haven’t been regular here because I was travelling the last two-three weeks, and a lot of time went into the preparation as well.
